I think it is extremely important for current educators to understand the variety of options they have with new technology being used in classrooms. I understand that there are many excellent teaching strategies that can be used without any technology at all. However, it is important for educators to give their students options when it comes to learning new content. As a future educator, I believe that I will take advantage of all the resources that are out there for me to utilize in the classroom. In the article, it introduces the idea of using colleagues to educate current teachers on the new materials out there. I feel that most educators would embrace the new materials that could benefit their students.

Technology in Education
http://www.the21stcenturyteacher.com/member-articles/on-education/50-technology-in-education-why
I think it is evident that with classroom sizes growing larger, there is less individual time for one on one teacher instruction throughout the day. Technology in classrooms is always available. Because I am a Special Education major, I am going to have a variety of unique learning styles when it comes to my students. For my visual learners, technology or interactive stimulations can provide them more practice with a certain concept and therefore give them a greater understanding. Technology gives students with all different learning styles different options when it comes to projects and school work. For example, instead of writing a paper in one's notebook, a student can get their point across by using PowerPoint or a blog!

My Teaching Philosophy
As a future teacher, my number one philosophy is giving my students the best educational experience as possible. I hope to foster critical thinking, give them lifelong learning skills, and prepare my students to function effectively in society. I believe that each student is a unique individual with their own learning style and it is my job as their teacher to fit their unique style. It is my job as my student's educator to help my students reach their full potential by providing a safe learning environment. Other than just academics, I hope to help the students develop a deep love and respect for themselves and others. Overall, my ultimate goal is to instill a love for learning in my students.
